Vanity Belle OC Turns Two!

PARTY PARTY PARTY

WOW! What an exciting celebration we had last month ringing in two years at our Orange County location. Let me tell you one thing, we know how to throw a party! The blue doors flung open and 6 pm and we celebrated till the DJ begged to go home!!

To transform the salon into a party space, we invited other local companies to partake in the celebration. We love supporting other local and small businesses. Let me give you a glimpse of what we had going on.

A party isn’t a party unless there is good food and free flowing drinks. Cadre Coffee supplied us with the caffeine to get our blood pumping to the beats. Their unique coffee bar is a great new idea to have at any event. Susie Cakes brought the sweets. Their mini cupcakes and cookies had all the guest with a sweet tooth busy. They left without a single left over. For the 21 and over crowd, Bottles and Blooms killed it with their champagne bar. Their festive holiday add ins to our favorite bubbly drink was a grand slam. Not to mention the flower arrangements they supplied brought our salon alive. We give a big round of applause to these three vendors.

Vanity Belle is all about unveiling our beauty. To bring the fashionista out of everyone, we invited Love and Whiskey to create a mini pop up to offer the top styles in fashion. It took all I had to not buy everything she brought. As the guest strolled outback, they were stepping into a full on pamper patio.  Rox Spa Newport Beach were offering free hand pumpkin peels. Feeling my hands after, I wanted to get it done to my whole body. While the guests were waiting in line for the peels, Massage Experts were relieving all the tension they had been carrying from the week with free back massages. There is something about a massage that takes you out of reality for a second and you walk away feeling free. Pearlesque Box was also hanging out on the patio with their boxes on display. They are the perfect people to connect with if you are wanting to try new organic beauty products. With their subscription you can get a box sent to your house each month with fun new products to try.

The party wouldn’t be complete without bumping jams! Visions entertainment had the tunes going till he couldn’t spin any longer. He actually had good music too!! It was not the music you hear when you go to an awkward retirement party, we were all getting down! A must given shout out to Jim Kennedy Photography for snapping awesome head shots of the guest in front of our famous paper flower wall. He knows what he is doing when he is behind the camera. David Parks was also behind a camera at the party. He was documenting the event play by play. We are so stoked to share the video he has put together. Keep an eye open for that in the future.

We would like to give a thanks to all the vendors above along with Alex & Ani – Charity by Design for the amazing donations for the raffle and swag bags. I am just saying you all missed out on some stellar swag. Free cupcake coupons, $50 spa gift cards, one of a kind Vanity Belle bags, and much more. It was a big step up from the Chinese finger war toy and cheap candy you used to get when you left a party when you were just a kiddo.

Overall turning two was a BLAST!! We hope to catch you all next year when we celebrate three years of UnVeiling your Beauty in Orange County!

Earthy & Elegant

orange-county-bridal-hairstyle-thevanitybelle.com
This bride could not be more elegant as she said “I DO” among the pine and leaves.

Our Belles knocked this look out of the park. They created a natural look that complimented the bride’s great facial features as well as the environment of the ceremony. Using golds, browns and neutrals, the makeup truly brought out the inner beauty that this bride carries. As for the bridesmaids, our Belles kept it true to each girl. We had some fabulous winged eyeliners and earthy golden eyeshadow. As they stood all together each look flowed together with beauty and joy.

To keep the earthy and elegant look consistent, our Belles created a very sophisticated up-do. A twisted bun sitting at the base of the neck looked stunning with the bride’s beautiful thin strapped dress. Her bridal party continued the elegant look with the classic loose curls. While some bridesmaids chose to let loose and keep it down, while others decided to go for the polished half up style. All together the bride and her closest friends looked breathe-taking on the day that will be remembered forever!

November Artist of the Month: Samantha Pack

Who is Samantha Pack?
@VanityBelleSammie

Vanity Belle Samantha Pack Sammie P

Nickname?
At home and around family I go by Smooch a childhood nickname; at work and with friends’ people I have inherited the name Sammie

Best advice from a client:
Interesting question, because often I have found that I am the one giving advice and  tips on inside beauty secrets. Honestly the only thing that comes to mind, and I say this with hesitation is: Don’t ever have a wedding. I’m sure it’s out of frustration which is easy to understand but it’s honestly the same advice I have heard multiples time that I can say stands out.

Your Hype Song:
Driving in to work as of late it’s been Toto- Africa….so classic! Or anything else 80’s. At work anthem: I typically don’t get a choice because I’m listening to the bridal parties IPod with Bruno Mars- I think I’m gonna marry you on repeat. If I had the choice, it would be Deadmau5 ft. Gerard Way- Professional Grievers…..my all time hype me up for anything, any situation song.

When you aren’t working what are you doing?
I wish I had a cooler answer, but I am usually lounging in sweats, drawing, or taking a nap….usually in complete silence!

What was the last text your best friend sent you?
Oh boy! Well this would be from a group text with two of my best friends, we call ourselves “Tres Chicas” and it can get a bit wild. It was from one of the other chicas and it read: “I wanna slap you silly and gossip over a bottle of wine tonight and pee my pants from laughter.” Not weird at all.

What is your go to style? At work? Going out?
Work: Cute comfort! Long hours mean you’ll usually catch me in one of my many pairs of sneakers- Vans, converse for the most part, but wait then I wear some Nikes and Pumas often too, a pair of skinny jeans with holes in them because I feel too classy if they don’t have at any rips, and some sort of plain jane tee slightly tucked in with lots of dainty Bracelets, rings and a small dainty necklace. Heck this is what I wear all the time, except if I go out I might throw on a pair of booties, small chunky wedge and a little flirtier top. Overall I like to keep my style very casual, effortless, and a nice chic grunge. Dark lips usually a must.

What is your life motto?
I've been saying it for about a decade, Give a little, Get a Little, it really works for every situation.

Are you an innie or an outtie?
All in

Have you ever broken a mirror? How?
Knock on wood, no I have not thankfully. I’m kind of highly superstitious.

Have you ever cut your own hair?
Almost all the time! I don’t like fresh cut hair, and perfect lines. Plus being a hair dresser myself I have grown quite picky. Therefore, when I cut it myself it is never perfect, nor do I care, as long as it looks good from the front, I’m golden.

Have you ever held an exotic animal? What?
Does a snake count? I used to have a pet snake, his name was Al. He was an Albino King Cobra; yellow and white with red eyes. I used to play with him all the time until one day I was holding him and he pooped on my arm. That was the end of our friendship.

What Disney Princess are you? Why?
I would have to go with Pocahontas. That wasn’t my most favorite Disney movie, but I must say we are a lot alike. I consider myself to be passionate, a lover of nature and being outdoors enjoying the peace it brings. I’m a hard worker, love spending time with others, but mostly I love my alone time. I believe everything has a spirit and feelings, especially in nature, and that being in the presence of such things can give you peace and answers. I try to see the good in others, and believe in Love but not being defined by the one you are with, but bring a different side out to who they are and the relationship. Most importantly, family is EVERYTHING to me, mean EVERYTHING. I would do anything or go anywhere to make sure the ones that I love are safe and happy. Plus, years ago Buzzfeed said I was most like her and I thought it was a sign that she was truly my inner Disney spirit.

If you were boss for the day, what would you do?
I would most definitely say that everyone is allowed to wear their pajamas to work for the day, as long as they are tasteful. Oh and for sure Pizza would be served for lunch!

Why Vanity Belle?
Vanity Belle took me on before they were who they are today. Just a small group of girls, working out of an in home studio, working on their goals as an artist. Vanity Belle always believed in me, pushed me to be where I am today, and gave me the overwhelming amount of knowledge to be the great artist that I see myself as today. Not just a business, but more a family. A group so strong, that nothing but your best interests are always on others minds. A place where you can be built up, not broken down. Just knowing that a company and its team has your back is such an amazing feeling. Which is why Vanity Belle can now proudly say they are at multiple locations, and one of the top leading beauty groups in Orange County. The warmness, and comfort you can find in the artists and owners there, is like no other place. So to any person out there looking to feel confident and beautiful, then I would say Vanity Belle, and why? Because they will make you feel so comfortable, and will not finish until you feel your absolute best.

Vanity Belle Summer Beach Camp

Beach, Bottles, Beauty and Babes

When you work a job that has its main days as the weekends, it’s nice to have a weekend to get away to the beach and relax. Owners ( Jonathan and Victoria Nino) treated the Belles to a weekend in a beach house that over looked the beautiful pacific ocean.

bootcamp-8.jpg

The festivities started Friday night with pizza, drinks and an “oh so naughty” game of That’s What She Said. ( If you are looking for a card game that will having everyone in tears of laughter, try That’s What She Said. It will not disappoint! ) Crashing late that night, it was a slow and mellow morning on Saturday. WHAT!! A SATURDAY SPENT ON THE BEACH AND NOT GLAMMING BRIDES?!?  Perfect timing for tattoo cover up specialist Joseph McDonough from Artistic Endeavors to educate the Belles on how to do a invisible tattoo cover up. What amazing tips we took away from that class. If you have a tattoo that needs to be hidden for a special event, we are your girls! After the class and lunch, it was time to relax. The rest of the day was spent lounging on the soft white sand soaking the golden Southern California sun.

Checked bronzed off the list, then next step was beauty. After watching a breathe taking sunset of the coastline, it was time to get dolled up for a night on the town. Newport Beach,CA Balboa Peninsula is the happening place to be. With bars all centrally located along the harbor and beach, the Belles were ready to take over. We lit up every place we walked into. Everyone wanted to join our tribe just by looking at how much fun we were having. Let’s just say The Belles are always the life of the party!

You can’t finish off  a weekend without brunch! Sunday morning kept rolling from Saturday night. Hitting up a great waterfront restaurant we sipped our favorite drink (champagne) and chowed down on the classic SoCal breakfast burrito. It was the perfect ending to a fabulous weekend together.

We may not always get the pleasure of working side by side with each other everyday, but when we can all come together we are unstoppable. Shout out to the amazing two who created this tribe. We LOVE You Victoria and Jonathan!  It was exactly what we needed and JUST PLAIN FUN!

Wedding by the Sea

DYINGGGGGGGGGG!!

This bride took our breathe away!! Her love and passion for her husband was fierce!  Her makeup was done by one of our fabulous artists, Natalie and her veil set so elegantly in a classic bridal updo to finish off her look, by Meghan. Now lets get real, could her bridal party be any more stunning? From the flower girl to the MOH, this bridal party couldn’t have complemented her more. They said their vows over looking the beautiful Pacific Ocean and are now forever one. <3

Special thanks so the amazing photographer Jim Kennedy for capturing such timeless, flawless photos. We always get overly excited when we see Jim and his team walk in, we know we are guaranteed to get the best makeup and hair shots. We heart Jim Kennedy Photographers.
